Wood Fish Carvings

Headwaters’ fish carvings are designed by Ellen McCaleb and made in her New Hampshire studio. These beautiful carved fish are crafted from basswood, then painted with Ellen’s special “milk paint,” which captures the species’ authentic colors and give the art its antique-looking patina. They are then finished with a special formula of shellac and magic which gives these pieces the warmth, depth of color and character that is Ellen’s signature style.
